O’Clercy Family Farm

Since 1993, O’Clercy Farms has been a cornerstone of Washington County, PA, dedicated to cultivating the world’s finest mung beans—legumes so exceptional we call them a "taste of paradise." Our unwavering commitment to excellence led to our landmark partnership with The American Mung Bean Federation in 2005, ensuring every harvest meets the highest global standards. We are a farm fueled by purpose. As a 90% charity-based organization, we believe in growth that gives back. Every penny of profit from our signature mung beans and our new corn harvest is donated to life-changing causes. While our roots remain deep in Pennsylvania soil, our reach is international; since 2015, we have been the trusted supplier for top-tier restaurants across the UK, Germany, Canada, and the EU. In a significant new chapter for the farm, we are proud to announce Mose Neuenschwander as the new owner of O’Clercy Farms. Mose has been an integral part of our story since 2001. Though born in Pennsylvania, his early expertise was forged in Hawaii, where he cultivated pigeon peas within an Amish community. Returning home at 18, Mose dedicated himself to O’Clercy Farms, eventually becoming one of the nation's most esteemed specialists in mung bean production. His devout approach to the land and tireless work ethic now guide our entire operation. Under Mose’s leadership, O’Clercy Farms is growing. We have recently completed the acquisition of the neighboring Hershberger family farm. This expansion allows us to bring the "O’Clercy Standard" to premium corn, grown on the historic 5-acre plot adjoining our original 3-acre mung bean sanctuary.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: “The Mung Bean Federation of USA (MBFUSA) is proud to announce that O’Clercy Farms in Washington, PA, has been awarded a 4-star 'Exceptional Quality' rating for their latest crop cycle.
Our regional evaluators were thoroughly impressed by the farm's ability to cultivate high-yield Vigna radiata within the unique climate of Western Pennsylvania. The beans from O’Clercy Farms demonstrated remarkable nitrogen-fixation efficiency, contributing to the rich, dark-green hue and firm texture that our members value for both sprouting and plant-based protein production.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: “The team at Gasthaus zum Grünen Bogen in Berlin is absolutely buzzing about our latest shipment from O’Clercy Farms! It is rare to find such high-quality American pulses that stand up to the rigorous standards of a traditional German kitchen, but these Washington, PA beans are wunderbar.
We give O’Clercy a solid 4 stars. Their mung beans have a remarkable structural integrity; even after a long simmer for our signature Mungbohneneintopf (mung bean stew), they retain a perfect al dente bite. The nutty undertone is far superior to the mass-produced varieties we usually see in the EU.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: “The team at Wagamama Amsterdam Centraal is thrilled to award O’Clercy Farms a perfect 5-star rating for their exceptional mung beans.
In our bustling 'bench-style' kitchen, we demand ingredients that are as fast-moving and high-quality as our service. These beans from Washington, PA, have become the secret star of our vegan-friendly menu, providing a vital protein boost to our nourishing bowls.”
